Road to Design

Road to D-School is an Educational program from Lomoni Design studio for school and college students who want to take design as a career, offering students a series of mentoring, guidance, and Practice with fellow Designers.

This coaching program allows students to take Design entrance exams in NID/CEED/NIFT.

What do we do ?

We focus only on three design entrance exams, NID, NIFT, and CEED/UCEED, for bachelor's and master's students. Our program will cover all the required topics and skills for the design entrance exam.

 

We train individually based on students. We will conduct workshops for the students. These workshops are not only from an exam perspective but also targeted at developing the individual skills and portfolio of a student.

 

We will expose the students to various design aspects, tools, and practices, eventually turning their perspectives. Our mentors are Designers from NID and NIFT, who have extensive expertise and experience in both professional and academic backgrounds.

  • What is a Design Entrance?
    Design entrance exams are different from any other entrance exam. These exams are focused on testing a student's creativity, Logical thinking, sketching, and problem-solving skills. There is nothing much for you to mug up. It's all about your creativity and awareness.
  • I don’t have good drawing skills, will I be able to attend?
    Basic sketching skills are enough to take this exam. You can ask what is a Basic sketching skill here. Design exams are targeted to test your creative problem-solving skills, so sketching is a tool to communicate your idea. So it requires basic sketching, like drawing multiple lines without a scale (it doesn’t need to be straight always), which is enough for anyone to take these exams.
  • What is Portfolio(particularly in design)?
    Your portfolio is a collection of your work that shows your design ideas, skillset, knowledge and, most importantly, your approach and process. We will also teach you 'How to build your Portfolio'.
